OBELIX
Large-scale Simulations for Disorder-driven Orbital Transport (HOP-ON OBELIX) LASIDO
The latest progress in orbitronics research raises new questions on orbital transport phenomena driven by disorder, including diffusion, relaxation, and extrinsic Hall effect. LASIDO aims to conduct large-scale simulations in real space to determine the mechanisms responsible for the diffusion and relaxation of the orbital moment in model and realistic systems. It will also explore new routes to maximize the interconversion between charge currents and orbital currents by disorder engineering in low-Z materials. With a close connection with the experimental program developed by the EIC Pathfinder Open OBELIX, these endeavors will open novel avenues for the realization of energy-efficient orbital-based devices.
