Houssem Rezgui

Postdoctoral Researcher

Sotomayor Research Group

Houssem Rezgui is a postdoctoral researcher in the Sotomayor Group at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL), with over three years of experience in phonon engineering for advanced nanoelectronic devices. His research tackles thermal challenges in modern electronics through nanoscale thermal transport, phonon hydrodynamics, and electrothermal modeling.

He is currently involved in the MAGNIFIC project, focused on developing nano-optomechanical systems for next-generation 5G and satellite communications. His contributions emphasise experimental studies of phonon transport and heat conduction in semiconductors, aiming to push beyond the limits of Fourier’s Law.

Houssem holds a PhD in Heat Transfer and Materials Science. His expertise includes finite element modeling, quantum heat transport, phonon-electron interactions, and thermal analysis of nanostructures, supporting international efforts in thermal physics and nanotechnology.
