Patrícia Silva is a Research Assistant in the Hanay Research Group at INL, working on the fabrication and characterisation of functional thin films. 

With a PhD in Biology (2025), an MSc in Biophysics and Bionanosystems, and a BSc in Biochemistry, all from the University of Minho, Patrícia brings a multidisciplinary skill set that bridges materials science and microbiology. Her expertise includes the development of functional thin films for antimicrobial applications, as well as for biological and gas sensing applications. Currently, she is focused on optimising thin-film fabrication processes for next-generation electronic applications.
