Yashwant Kharwar
PostDoc

I am pleased to introduce myself. I am Yashwant Pratap Kharwar, Postdoctoral researcher at INL, Braga, Portugal. Currently I am working with Prof. Yury Kolenko and my role is to focus on designing, fabricating and testing the different types of electrolyzer from single cell to multi-stacks.
I completed my graduation from Goraphpur University, and post graduation (Master of Science in Chemistry) from University of Allahabad, India. I started my PhD research journey at Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, with Prof. Kothandaraman Ramanujam. I majorly worked on synthesizing metal-organic complexes/frameworks-based electrocatalysts for fuel cells. I apply electrochemical studies such as CV, LSV, RRDE, and Koutecky–Levich analysis to know peak/onset potential and electron transfer number during ORR. In support of the results, I carry out theoretical investigations of ORR using Density functional theory (DFT) with Gaussian and ORCA. I was awarded my PhD degree in July 2022 and then joined Prof. Arnab Dutta's lab, Dept. of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, Mumbai as Institute Postdoctoral Fellow (IPDF) and completed two years in Dec 2024.
