Join us next Monday and Tuesday for the Battery Summit

Next Monday – March 22 and next Tuesday-March 23, the Battery Summit will bring together European, Portuguese and Spanish policy-makers, in addition to entrepreneurs and researchers, to discuss the measures necessary to create a value chain in the area of Batteries in the Iberian Peninsula.
The online conference, organized by INL – International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory, will be attended by Maroš Šefčovič, Vice-President of the European Commission for the Energy Union, Elisa Ferreira, European Commissioner for Cohesion and Reformas and João Pedro Matos Fernandes, Minister of the Environment and Energy Transition on the first morning.
The second day of the conference will be opened by João Galamba, Secretary of State for Energy, with sessions on raw materials for the circular economy, sustainable processing and also recycling and recovery, as well as on the challenges and opportunities for the future of batteries.
The event will be closed by Manuel Heitor, Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education.
For the INL Director-General – Lars Montelius, “the main objective of Battery Summit is to bring together all stakeholders in this area and, in a broader context, in the transition to electric mobility, which will completely change the way our society is organized ”.
Lars Montelius also added that “the Iberian countries, if they work closely and within the European Union, will be able to take advantage of many opportunities that are now opening up to the younger generations in the Iberian Peninsula, namely with the creation of thousands of new jobs linked to the clean energy storage and electric mobility ”.
