Bejoys Jacob
PhD Student
I have finished by BSMS degree with major in Physics from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Thiruvananthapuram, India. I'm currently doing my PhD in the Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Automation in the University of Carlos III Madrid (UC3M). My primary research interest is in 'neuromorphic engineering based on optoelectronic devices like micro and nanoLEDs'. I have expertise in micro and nanofabrication and the electrical and optical characterization.
I have been trained in a multidisciplinary environment throughout my studies and career and this has helped me to easily adapt to novel research areas and have broader picture in mind for research. I have worked in prestigious research institutes across India, like Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) Bangalore, and my alma mater Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Thiruvananthapuram for summer internships and research projects before joining INL. These projects were on field like Nanophotonics, Astrophysics and Electromagnetism. IN 2018 was a resipient of the prestigious 'Chennupati and Vidya Jagadish Endowment Scholarship' which gave me the chance to work at the Research School of Physics and Engineering in Australian National University (ANU), Canberra, Australia. I was also recipient of the DST Inspire scholorship during my BSMS degree in IISER Thiruvananthapuram.
