Isilda Amorim
PhD Student
Isilda Amorim joined INL as a Research Fellow in the Nanochemistry Research Group. She is currently working on developing electrode materials, using chemical and physical methods, to increase the efficiency of alkaline water electrolysis to deploy green hydrogen. Isilda has a background in Biochemistry (2013) and holds a Master's degree in Characterization Techniques and Chemical Analysis (2016) from the University of Minho. In 2023, she finished her PhD in Chemistry, with a Specialization in Physical and Analytical Chemistry, also granted by the University of Minho. During her PhD, she focused on synthesising transition metal-based materials, emphasising transition metal phosphides (TMPs) for electrochemical water splitting and electrochemical sensors of phenolic compounds, highlighting the potential of TMPs in different electrochemical applications.
