Najib Ben Messaoud
Fellow
Najib Ben Messaoud is a Research Fellow in the Water Quality Research Group at INL. His current research activities are focused on the development of advanced sensing strategies for water contaminants monitoring.
His main research interests include the development and characterization of new nanostructured electrode architectures, electrochemical (bio)sensors and their applications in the food, health and environmental areas. He received his Bachelor in Physical Chemistry and MSc in Quantum Physics from the Faculty of Sciences (Monastir, Tunisia). He obtained his PhD degree in Engineering Physics with a specialty in Nanotechnology Sciences from the High School of Sciences and Technologies (Hammam Sousse, Tunisia). During his PhD, he focused on the study and development of carcinogenic species microsensors by surface Nanoengineering. Then he occupied two postdoctoral positions at the University of Minho (Braga, Portugal) and the University of Evora (Evora, Portugal). Afterward, he joined INL as Research Fellow in 2021.
