INL – International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory, CeNTI – Center for Nanotechnology and Technical, Functional and Intelligent Materials, and IPN – Instituto Pedro Nunes, will bring together specialists in several areas for a “marathon of ideas” around what Braga needs to become a Smart City by 2030.

This Hackacity@Braga will take place on December 17, Tuesday, from 2 pm to 10 pm, at INL, Braga, under Fuel, a scientific and technological startup acceleration program, funded by COMPETE.

The program for this half-day debate about Braga’s future starts with the presentation of problems, followed by a group discussion. After dinner, there will be a pitch of the ideas proposed by scientists, technicians, experts, entrepreneurs and enthusiasts.

Before the “starting shot” four challenges will be launched: what the city and the scientific community can offer with S.E.N.S.E, a new building to be created near INL for the dissemination and experimentation of science; how to use technology to retrofit spaces and buildings in the city and how participants imagine that Braga will be 10 years from now; how technology can support urban mobility in the city; and lastly, what are the most favourable solutions for achieving sustainable waste management.

This initiative has the support and intervention of Braga Municipality, DST Group, TUB – Braga Urban Transports, AGERE – Braga Water, Effluents and Waste, BRAVAL – Solid Waste Recovery and Treatment, and BOSCH.

Participation in Hackacity@Braga is free; register here.
