Moore4Medical: Accelerating Innovation in Microfabricated Medical Device
February 17, 2023
Compared to the pace of innovation in electronic consumer products, the pace of innovation for medical devices is lagging behind. INL researchers are working on the project Moore4Medical which brings together an extensive consortium, with 60 partners from 12 European countries, in order to accelerate innovation in electronic medical devices.
Moore4Medical project addresses emerging medical applications and technologies that offer new opportunities for the electronic components and systems industry, including bioelectronic medicine, organ-on-chip, adherence monitoring of medication, smart ultrasound, radiation-free interventions and continuous monitoring.
These novel technologies will help fight the increasing cost of healthcare by reducing the need for hospitalisation and helping to develop personalised therapies and intelligent point-of-care diagnostic tools.
The combination of typical MedTech applications with the integration of electronics will enhance the competitiveness for the emerging medical domains addressed in Moore4Medical .
